COSTA MESA, CA. - Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Meadow in the enormously popular television series, "The Sopranos," stars in the title role of Marshalls presents Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, which comes to the Orange County Performing Arts Center June 5 -10. The legendary Eartha Kitt stars as The Fairy Godmother and Paolo Montalban as The Prince. Performances are Tuesday, June 5 through June 8 at 8 p.m., Saturday, June 9 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Saturday, June 9 matinee performance will be sign language-interpreted.

Several generations have fallen under the spell of Rodgers & Hammerstein's enchanting musical, Cinderella, first shown on CBS Television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, remade-with Lesley Ann Warren in 1965, and most recently seen with Whitney Houston and Brandy in 1997. Now this small-screen classic comes to life in a spectacular stage fantasy filled with timeless characters, irresistible romance and the unforgettable songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein - all brought together with the kind of dazzling stagecraft that will leave audiences happily ever after!

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is best known for her role as Meadow Soprano, a series regular on HBO's Emmy Award-winning show, "The Sopranos," for which she received the 1999 and 2000 Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award for Best Young Actress/Performance in a Drama TV Series. She also shares a SAG award with the cast of The Sopranos for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. A Long Island native, 19-year old Jamie-Lynn started her acting career at the age of 9, at a local regional theater production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. In addition to performing in numerous local productions, she appeared as Young Mary/Janey in the national tour of the musical version of It's A Wonderful Life. Jamie-Lynn has been involved in musical recordings, student films, CD-ROMS and has been a dancer with the Repertory Dance Group at the American Theater Workshop.

Known throughout the world for her versatility and style, Eartha Kitt has been nominated for three Tony Awards, an Emmy Award, and two Grammy Awards. She was recently nominated for a Tony for her role in The Wild Party and she also received critical acclaim nationwide starring as the Wicked Witch in the national tour of The Wizard of Oz. Other stage credits include Dr. Faust, New Faces of 1952, Monotonous, Mrs. Patterson (Tony nomination), Shinbone Alley, The Skin of Our Teeth, The Owl and the Pussycat, Timbuktu (Tony nomination), Bunny, The High Bid and Follies.

The voice of Eartha Kitt is one of the stars of Disney's blockbuster animated film, The Emperor's New Groove. Her other films include Monotonous, The Mark of the Hawk (with Sidney Poitier), St. Louis Blues (with Nat "King" Cole), Anna Lucasta (with Sammy Davis, Jr.), Monty Python's Erik the Viking (with Tim Robbins), Ernest Scared Stupid, Boomerang (with Eddie Murphy), Fatal Instinct (with Armand Assante) and was featured in Isaac Mizrahi's Unzipped. Her portrayal as Catwoman, in the television series, Batman, continues to be seen worldwide, and her concert and cabaret career has taken her to over 100 countries where she has sung in ten different languages.

Paolo Montalban has appeared in a variety of television and stage productions. His most notable television credits include the role as The Prince in the highly acclaimed ABC movie of the week, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (with Whitney Houston and Brandy). He was the star of the WB action series, Mortal Kombat Conquest as Kung Lao. On stage, Paolo has appeared in the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammersteins's The King & I (with Donna Murphy, Lou Diamond Phillips and Faith Prince), Man of La Mancha (national tour), Ballad of Little Jo (with Judy Kuhn), Nine, Kiss Me, Kate, and the Premier Cast Recordings of Heading East and King Island Christmas. Paolo has just finished filming Magic Adobo, an independent feature for release in the spring. He most recently worked on an upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song with a new book by Henry David Hwang (Dir. Bobby Longbottom). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rutgers University. In 1998, Paolo was named by People Magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People.

Director Gabriel Barre recently directed Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party at the Manhattan Theatre Club (winner of the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Off- Broadway Musical and nominated for 13 Drama Desk Awards). He has directed numerous original works, including john & jen, Houdini, Zorro, The Curse of Capistrano, Honky-Tonk Highway, Fanny Hill, Dorian, and this summer will direct the musical version of Summer of '42 at the Norma Terris Theatre in Chester. His revivals of Sweeney Todd (winner of four Connecticut Critics Circle Awards, including Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical), and Finian's Rainbow (nominated for five CT Critics Circle Awards) were also produced at Goodspeed.

Cinderella is choreographed by Ken Roberson. The design team includes sets by Jim Youmans, costumes by Pamela Scofield and lighting by Tim Hunter.
